What this helps with
- ✓Staying consistent with training while travelling
- ✓Getting a good workout with only bodyweight or minimal equipment
- ✓Adapting to different hotel gyms
- ✓Short, effective sessions that don't eat travel days
Step-by-step plan
- 1
Assess available equipment
Hotel gym: use dumbbells + cable machines. Bodyweight only: push-up variations, pull-up bar, dips, pistol squats, nordic curls. Pack resistance bands (200g, fits in bag).
- 2
3-day full-body split
Each session hits all major muscle groups. Day A: Push-focused. Day B: Pull-focused. Day C: Leg-focused. All include core work. 45 min total each.
- 3
Core travel exercises
Push-ups (elevate feet for upper chest), Pike push-ups (shoulders), Tricep dips (chair), Pull-ups (door bar), Inverted rows (table), Squats, Lunges, Glute bridges, Planks.
- 4
Maintain intensity on the road
Add tempo (3 sec down, 1 sec up), reduce rest periods, add isometric pauses, or superset exercises. Harder than adding weight but equally effective.
